The designers wanted their jewellery pieces to not only adorn but also add to the personality of the wearer in such a way that the piece becomes them. They started in March 2006, a period when the concept of contemporary fashion jewellery was very nascent in India and people were opening up to new style sensibilities. In this sense they were pioneers in their field. They had something for everyone – the avant-garde fashionista who could don a statement piece, the hesitant style seeker who would choose a more conservative piece or the office goer who wanted something understated to enhance their work style quotient.

Tesoro means “treasure” in the Italian language.
Italian design and moda has been a major style influence on both the designers.

Working with the Embassy of Italy for an extensive period of time exposed them to both classic and bohemian fashion elements. The Italians have a sense of style that is inherent, almost genetic, an artistic ability and a sense of adventure in even everyday dressing. This nonchalant yet definitive sense of ‘moda’ is what opened a new culture of ideas and design vistas. Mix with this a love for travel, the eye to find inspiration in everyday life and a quest for originality and you have a cosmopolitan style cocktail.

Tesoro has successfully combined different materials, raw and finished, different styles – old and new, as well as different metals to create totally unique pieces. Each piece has a story to tell and each piece is a bespoke design.

The designers want their pieces to be an extension of the wearer’s personality and not an accessory that has been “fashion forced” on them.
