Tesoro is Italian for Treasure

Tesoro – The Trinket Box was born out of a longing to create jewellery that is both contemporary and classic. The designers wanted their pieces not only to adorn, but to add to the personality of the wearer in such a way that the piece becomes them.

They started in March 2006, a period when the concept of contemporary fashion jewellery was still nascent in India and people were opening up to new style sensibilities. In that sense they were pioneers — with something for everyone: the avant-garde fashionista who could carry a statement piece, the hesitant style seeker who would choose something more conservative, and the office goer who wanted something understated.

Tesoro means “treasure” in Italian, and Italian design and moda has been a major influence on both designers. Working with the Embassy of Italy for an extensive period exposed them to both classic and bohemian fashion elements — that nonchalant yet definitive sense of style. Mix in a love for travel, an eye for inspiration in everyday life and a quest for originality, and you have a cosmopolitan style cocktail.

Tesoro combines different materials, raw and finished, different styles — old and new — as well as different metals to create entirely unique pieces. Each piece has a story to tell and each is a bespoke design, meant to be an extension of the wearer's personality rather than an accessory that has been “fashion forced” on them.
